SHOJO | Open until 2am on weekends

Asian Fusion food served with inventive cocktails, including house-infused spirits and tiki drinks.

"Superb craft cocktails and innovative Asian Fusion cuisine comes to raucous Chinatown, and it's about time. Boisterous and fun in a coolly decorated space (think Wu Tang Clan meets Ming Dynasty). Sit at the bar and watch old school Kung Fu movies on the backbar's TV."

"They took an old Chinese restaurant idea and turned it into a cool cocktail place with delicious food."

ALDEN & HARLOW | Open until 2am on weekends

Chef Michael Scelfo's seasonal menu serves dishes like summer squash parmigiano to oil cured tuna belly to house-made carbonara to their limited secret burger.

“When the mood strikes on a night off, this one of my favorites in Cambridge. Michael Scelfo's food is smoky and bright, balanced and fun.” FED Pro  >  Chef Matt Jennings of Townsman

“Highly anticipated Harvard Square spot from chef Michael Sceflo does not disappoint. Simple and elegant is an apt description. The bar holds up its end with solid drinks served up by some veteran bartenders amongst the staff."

CITIZEN PUBLIC HOUSE & OYSTER BAR | Open until 2am

Modern neighborhood tavern located behind Fenway Park. Chef Brian Reyelt’s menu is a fresh twist on tavern cuisine. The bar features craft cocktails, world-class wines, a selection of over 100 whiskeys, and local and national micro-brews. They're also known for their whole roasted suckling pig.

“They do full pig roasts, they do a lot of barrel selections of whiskey, they have Fernet on tap, and that’s just begging us to come down and go sit for a time.”

Named after former Boston mayor James Michael Curley, they serve burgers and fries and rib-sticking comfort food. Cocktails range from classics like a Dark & Stormy to the Witch Hunt with Strega liqueur and the De Moda with overproof rum and East India sherry.

“A Downtown Crossing hot spot that packs them in nightly with great burgers and comfort food matched with extensive craft beer list and forward-thinking cocktail list. Cool reservations-only side room, Bogies Place, serves it up in a more intimate 'Adults Only' setting. Be sure to read their 'Law & Order' rules online or on the wall - bottom line is 'No douche bags!'”

LEGAL CROSSING | Open until 2am

This is a spin-off remake of the classic Legal Seafoods located in Downtown Crossing. The menu is still seafood-focused, but they've made it more night spot than family spot. They've hipped up the soundtrack and added craft cocktails with names that give a nod to the neighborhood's grittier past with its former lovable local hookers and strippers.

“The venerable multi-state chain restaurant, which first opened in Cambridge decades ago, refines its concept into a hipper destination for downtown. The biggest distinction is in the cocktail menu curated by a Patrick Sullivan (owner of the legendary B-Side Lounge), which features spirit-forward creations with a knowing wink, name wise, to the former Combat Zone this neighborhood once was known as."

FRANKLIN CAFE | Open until 2am

Modern American cuisine, creative cocktails, and it's open late. It's where the chefs go out after work.

“The Franklin does its thing well - simple elegance, down to earth approach. Food made fast and with fresh ingredients. Imagine going to your best friend’s house for dinner - just a little bit louder and more brash, a few more people than you thought were going to be there, oh, and getting a bill at the end of the meal. That’s what Franklin is all about, making you feel at home.”
