The biggest misconception about Orlando is...

"That the lifestyle here is connected to the theme parks."
FED Pro > Chef Matt Hinckley of Hinckley's Fancy Meats"

"That it's all about The Mouse."
FED Pro > Barman Gene Zimmerman of The Courtesy Bar

IN REALITY...

"It is more of a southern town. We're one of the few major Florida cities not on a coast. There's also a counter culture movement here that pushes back against Orlando's chains and urban sprawl."
FED Pro > Chef Matt Hinckley of Hinckley’s Fancy Meats

"It is more about us having the best theme parks in the world, but also an exploding culinary scene which is thriving due to our diverse population and availability of local ingredients year-round."
FED Pro > Chef Kevin Fonzo of K Restaurant

"It is more about music, art, oaks, chefs, design, lakes, proper bars, pride, locally-driven, inspired, operated, and supported."

FED Pro > Chef Matt Hinckley of Hinckley’s Fancy Meats

"Hands down, the best coffee in town. If you truly love and appreciate coffee, this is the place to go. They are very knowledge about what they are brewing, their cold brew in amazing, and they have one of the friendliest staffs."

Se7en Bites

This is a sweet and savory bakeshop specializing in nostalgic Southern comfort food with a modern twist.

"I'm a bit of a cycling junkie and this great breakfast spot is right next to my local bicycle shop. It's two birds and one stone for me. I get great coffee and a quick bite to eat before picking up any gear I need at the shop before my weekend rides."
FED Pro > Chef Matt Hinckley of Hinckley’s Fancy Meats

"This place is an absolute hidden gem. It's small and perfect for breakfast. Located in a small part of town called The Milk District, their menu is always changing yet there are a few favorites that tend to always stick around. The Florida Citrus Bundt Cake is a must. It's a great place to sit outside with your dogs and enjoy the beautiful weather with an even better breakfast."

East End Market

This is a market to showcase Central Florida's local farmers and food artisans. There are various vendors selling meats, seafood, cheeses, soups, produce, coffee and juices, as well as restaurants.

"This is based on the Ferry Building in San Francisco, but on a smaller scale. For anyone who's interested in culinary and food, this is a must go-to market. A local guy bought an old church building and now there are several food vendors here.

"Visit any of the artisans here. Swing by Lineage for some incredible coffee. Have it with a pastry from Olde Hearth Bread or a chunk of cheese from La Femme Du Fromage. You can also get a glass of local wine from Quantum at Local Roots."
FED Pro > Chef Kevin Fonzo of K Restaurant

"This is a great spot to check out. Not because Hinckley’s Fancy Meats are available there through Local Roots, but because there’s a wide variety of other locally-made stuff here as well. There’s coffee, a juice bar, a bakery, sushi, and a lot of packaged goods that are regionally crafted."
FED Pro > Chef Matt Hinckley of Hinckley's Fancy Meats

"This market is just awesome. You can start by getting a cold brew coffee from Lineage or fresh juice from Skyebird. Then you can hit up La Femme du Fromage for some artisan cheeses and Olde Hearth Bread for amazing pastries and breads. Local Roots Farm Store is great to pick up some fresh local produce or craft beers."

"I hit the Vietnamese District pretty regularly because it's so close to my house. You can find spots there like Little Saigon or Pho 88 serving up bowls of noodles (pho) with tendon, tripe, and pig skin. They've been doing it for years and the people in the know (read: foodies and chefs) have gobbled it up. It has only been recently that those cuts have made their way into Orlando's fancier restaurants."

ASIAN FUSION | Tako Cheena

Tacos, burritos and empanadas with Pan-Asian fillings and a wild late night local crowd.

"This is a great spot to crawl into after a late night downtown. They've got outside-of-the-box taco offerings that are the perfect centerpiece for after hours discussions about how to save the planet. Be careful not to trip over hipster beards or pocket chains though."
FED Pro > Chef Matt Hinckley of Hinckley's Fancy Meats

"It is fun and they are open late night. They have all kinds of different tacos. They have counter service, so you walk up and get your tacos. If you go around 12am, you can watch the freak show walk in right after that. Be there before 1am, because it does get crazy packed and it does get a little freaky. But the food is good. It is a mix of transvestites from the show bar down the street called Bananas. It is fun and the food is really, really good."
