Let's start off with full disclosure, I think there is no more overrated food in the world than ice cream. About twice a year I think it sounds good, I order some and then remember why I never order it. I also have a six year old and a wife who could not disagree with me more and we spend an insane amount of time looking for amazing ice cream shops whenever we travel.
Bi-Rite in the Mission district of San Francisco is their favorite and we usually end up their daily whenever we are in town. Balsamic strawberry, basil, peach, honey lavender... you get the idea, this isn't Baskin Robbins. Just be prepared to wait, and wait, and wait, as the line is always out the door. I'll even admit, it's pretty great... for ice cream.
