5pm in Charleston

By Chef Joe DiMaio

My favorite time of day in Charleston is around 5 o'clock during the fall season. My girlfriend and I like to hop around when we go out and get the most out of our night. We like to try as many new things as we can.

We stop at goat.sheep.cow on Church Street, talk to Patty and Trudy for a quick minute and pick up a new triple creme cheese and a baguette. Then we head down to The Charleston Beer Exchange on Exchange Street and pick out a new beer we've never tried.

Waterfront Park is just a block away and if you are brave enough you can drink your beer and eat your cheese while watching the boats come and go.

Next stop would have to be Cypress on East Bay Street for Monday Burger Night, one of the best deals in town, you get an ever-changing burger for just five dollars.

Last stop would have to be The Bar at Husk for bourbon and maybe an appetizer, if we're still hungry. It is one of the only places in town that mixes tourists and industry who's who all in one and is just an all around great bar to relax and really feel like you’re in Charleston.
