5pm | NEW YORK CITY
By Pastry Chef Pichet Ong
My favorite time of day in NYC has got to be 5pm. By then, it’s close to the end of work day and whatever I had for lunch is digested. It's time for crossfit, yoga, or the gym, which also counts as personal time alone with my iPod.
If I can't get my body to do as told for something physical, I look into satisfying my sweet tooth and walk to City Bakery for a cookie & hot chocolate or breads, perhaps a couple of rugelachs or a slice of babka. While snacking and on a sugar high, I will look into who is available for dinner and then text the maitre d' at the restaurant we picked, for a few hours later.
